The International Social Action Film Festival At Adelphi University

The evenings will be moderated by Ron Shultz, founder and executive director of the International Social Action Film Festival. The year-round festival is dedicated to supporting the efforts of local social action organizations through film.

The International Social Action Film Festival, co-sponsored by the Adelphi University School of Business and the Levermore Global Scholars Program and part of the School of Business' Second International Conference on Social Entrepreneurship, will be held on Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Friday, films will be shown in the Center for Recreation and Sports' Campbell Lounge, and on Saturday in Blodgett Hall 201. The film festival is free for Adelphi students, staff, and faculty. An optional $10 donation is suggested from the public to support the non-profit International Social Action Film Festival, a social enterprise program of the Legacy XXI Institute.

The evenings will be moderated by Ron Shultz, who is the founder and executive director of the International Social Action Film Festival, a year-round film festival, which screened in nine countries and 18 cities in 2009, and is dedicated to sustaining and supporting the efforts of local social action organizations through film. Mr. Shultz is considered an international thought leader in the area of social entrepreneurship and social enterprise. He is the noted author of 21 published books, thirteen on emergence, social entrepreneurship, business innovation, and competitiveness. His books include Unconventional Wisdom; Open Boundaries: Creating Business Innovation through Complexity (with Howard Sherman); and The Mindful Corporation: Liberating the Human Spirit at Work (with Paul Nakai). His newest book forthcoming is Miracles and Nasty Surprises (co-authored with Hugo Letiche and Michael Lissack).

Mr. Schultz has run and directed for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, social entrepreneurial initiatives, as well as social enterprises. His efforts have always been about joining theory, application, and practice into effective business world solutions. The goal of his work is to bring healthy business practices and innovative solutions together to solve pressing social issues.
