St. Patty?s Run Green 8K Caps off MS Awareness Week

The inaugural St. Patty?s Run Green 8K concludes national MS Awareness Week (March 2-8). Orange Man, the MS Society?s silent leader, will attend the race continuing his effort to educate North Carolinians about the disease.

RALEIGH, N.C. ? This Sunday, March 8, the inaugural St. Patty?s Run Green 8K (www.stpattysrungreen.com) concludes national MS Awareness Week (March 2-8). Profits from the event benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Eastern North Carolina.

?We are thrilled to have Orange Man join us for this new race,? says Bruce Bokish, director of MS Events, the nonprofit coordinating the fundraiser. ?Informing people about the effects of MS and raising funds for research and programs helping those afflicted with the disease are exactly the reasons our MS Events team organizes benefit races in the Triangle.?

The St. Patty?s Run Green 8K builds upon MS Events? previous success with the Ridgewood Turkey Trot and the Cup ?N Cone Tour. The inaugural green race takes runners through a newly certified course in downtown Raleigh. In addition to the competitive 8K, Sunday?s event includes a eco-educational exposition and post-race party hosted by Tir na nOg Irish Pub.
