Check Coverage For All Mobile Networks With One Postcode Search

Finding out whether an area gets signal coverage from a particular network used to be a long and drawn out process.

27, July 2017: Finding out whether an area gets signal coverage from a particular network used to be a long and drawn out process. But now, thanks to SignalChecker.co.uk, frustrating and difficult online coverage checks might be coming to an end.

Find Out About Mobile Coverage Using Postcode

The company has just launched its new site which it promises will take much of the hassle out of checking whether a particular area has signal coverage. Rather than customers having to check multiple websites to see whether they will be able to get reception, SignalChecker.co.uk brings them all under one roof, providing customers with a far more convenient service. All customers need to do is type in their postcode into the search box on the site, and they will receive information on mobile coverage from all UK network providers.

The system the company uses is far from basic. Not only is it able to inform people whether they will be able to get signal outdoors, but using its extensive database, it is also able to provide information on signal strength indoors too, something which is critical for those who use their smartphones in the home.

All UK Networks Included

The unique selling point of the service - and the main benefit that the company is touting - is the fact that customers no longer have to visit each supplier separately to find out whether they can get coverage. SignalChecker.co.uk provides independent coverage information on all mobile telephone network providers in the UK, including EE, O2, Three and Vodafone.

What about networks that only rent network coverage from the big four providers? SignalChecker.co.uk says that customers can use their service to discover whether a mobile network provider that does not own their own network (also known as a virtual network operator) has coverage too. They provide coverage information on Asda Mobile, BT, FreedomPop, GiffGaff, Jump, Plusnet Mobile, Sky Mobile, TalkTalk Mobile, Tesco Mobile and Virgin Mobile.

Types Of Mobile Coverage

Also, provides a facility that it is able to tell customers what type of coverage they will receive in a certain postcode. With today’s stack of mobile telephony data transfer services, such as 3G and 4G, it does not make sense to refer to “coverage” as a single entity. For this reason, SignalChecker.co.uk provides information on whether customers have voice coverage (the most basic 2G for making telephone calls and sending texts), 3G (the old standard for transmitting mobile data) and 4G (first introduced in 2012 as an upgrade to 3G). The site then carefully tabulates the results, showing which types of coverage are provided by the different networks.

SignalChecker.co.uk points out that mobile signal can be affected by a range of factors, including the weather. As a result, mobile phone users may experience transient problems with network connectivity. To accommodate this, SignalChecker.co.uk employs a traffic light system: green means there is good coverage, amber means that there might be problems, and red indicates no coverage at all.

SignalChecker.co.uk was set up with the purpose of making it easier for people to find out what signal to expect for any UK postcode.
