The Black Cotton Foundation Announces Its 2015 Jasmina Anema Youth Award Recipient!

Teenage Extraordinaire Receives Award for Her Many Accomplishments and Dedication to Make the World A Better Place

The Black Cotton Foundation announced today that 14-year-old entrepreneur Gabrielle Jordan will be the recipient of its Jasmina Anema Youth award later this spring. The Jasmina Anema Youth Award is given to an extraordinary young person that goes above and beyond to improve society's quality of life and community. It is a special award that serves to recognize an outstanding youth, while motivating others to believe in and achieve their dreams.

Gabrielle Jordan is rapidly receiving national recognition for her many achievements. She launched her jewelry company, Jewelz of Jordan, at the tender age of 9. She is an author of a #1 Amazon Bestselling Book, “The Making of a Young Entrepreneur: A Kid's Guide to Developing the Mind-Set for Success,” which she published at age 11. Gabrielle is also an accomplished speaker and a philanthropist, most notably named Youth Ambassador for the Tigerlily Foundation, who educates young women about breast cancer and empowerment.

“We are extremely excited and humbled to be able to present Gabrielle with this special award,” says Raheim Singleton, President and Founder of The Black Cotton Foundation. “Her goals, drive and beautiful spirit epitomize what we want the Jasmina Anema Youth Award to be all about, and it’s a tremendous honor to announce this today, on the 5th anniversary of Jasmina’s passing; I am confident that Jasmina would be proud.”

Miss Jordan will be presented with this award during an award ceremony on Saturday, May 30th in New York City. For more information about the Black Cotton Foundation, or the Jasmina Anema Youth Award, please call 718-415-0523 or visit For more information about Gabrielle Jordan, please visit
