Minato International: China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile carrier has apparently begun taking orders for Apple iPhones.

Minato International: After many years of false dawns, it appears that China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile carrier with 740 million subscribers, has started taking pre-orders for Apple’s iconic iPhone.

Apple has been trying to offset declining revenue growth by expanding its footprint in China which represents its largest market outside of the United States but it remains number 7 in terms of sales on mainland China behind Samsung, Lenovo, ZTE and others. Similarly, China Mobile has experienced slowing growth and is losing market share to rivals like China Unicom Hong Kong.

A Minato International technology researcher said, “There hasn’t been any official comment from China Mobile but this is the second instance in which the carrier has placed an advertisement for the iPhone the last time being October following the launch of the 5S.”

The Cupertino, California-based technology giant has often stated that China is crucial to the company’s plans going forward but official tie ups have failed to materialize despite many near misses.

“Investors are particularly keen for a deal to be done since more than 740 million potential customers could be offered the iconic device almost immediately,” said the “Minato International” researcher.

Apple stock would almost certainly receive a major boost upon the announcement of any official deal with China Mobile.

Minato International says that the deal would be the catalyst to return the stock to levels above $600 per share.
