Grand preparations are afoot for the 3rd Annual Convocation of Jain University on 28 November 2013.

The convocation will take place at Jain Global Campus with Padmashree Dr. C G Krishnadas Nair, Chancellor, Jain University presiding over the function. The Chief Guest on the occasion will be Padma Bhushan Shri Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) who will deliver the Convocation Address.

At the 3rd convocation, Jain University will be awarding 2281 meritorious students with Degrees from Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research programmes. Jain University for the first time will award 4 Ph.D. degrees to women from 4 different disciplines at the convocation. The convocation also outlines the transformational journey of students at Jain University and a glimpse at what the dynamic future holds for the aspiring Jainites.

The Convocation programme is scheduled as follows:
10.30 hrs Convocation Procession enters the auditorium
10.40 hrs Invocation
10.45 hrs Welcome Address by the Vice Chancellor
11.00 hrs Declaration of opening of Convocation by the Chancellor
11.05 hrs Presentation of the Candidates for the award of Degrees (UG & PG) by the Deans of Faculty
11.25 hrs Presentation of the Candidates for the award of M.Phil and Ph.D Degrees
11.40 hrs Presentation of the Candidates for the Award of Gold Medals & Rank Certificates
12.24 hrs Address by the President, Jain University Trust
12.45 hrs Convocation Address by the Chief Guest
13.05 hrs Graduation Oath
13.10 hrs Dissolution of the Convocation by the Chancellor
13.15 hrs National Anthem
13.20 hrs Convocation Procession exits the Auditorium

Padma Bhushan Shri Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is an Indian Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and author of 'Imagining India'. After a successful career at Infosys, he is now heading the Government of India's technology committee -Technology Advisory Group for Unique Projects (TAGUP). He was conferred with NDTV's Transformational Idea of the Year award for his work on Aadhaar in the year 2011.
