Denver attorney and young philanthropist Reeves D. Whalen joined the Millennium Network in Washington D.C. earlier this year in support of the William J. Clinton Foundation. Mr. Whalen attended the event with young philanthropists from around the nation at a private reception held at The National Museum of Women in the Arts. President Bill Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation with the mission to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote healthier childhoods, and protect the environment by fostering partnerships among governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and private citizens to turn good intentions into measurable results.

In 2009, Attorney Whalen volunteered in Haiti with a nongovernmental organization, The Center of Hope Haiti Orphanage Project. Thereafter, he worked with The National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians (NOAH-NY) supporting medical relief efforts following the Haiti earthquake in 2010.

The Clinton Foundation has spent $28 million in Haiti toward relief aid as well as projects focusing on restoring Haiti's communities, sustainable development, and strategic planning on private sector investment and job creation. The Clinton Foundation has funded a cholera education and prevention program through the Clinton Health Access Initiative and is currently exploring new technologies for water and sanitation to help prevent future outbreaks as well as subsidizing school fees for nearly 400,000 Haitian children who are without access to educational opportunities

On attending the event and meeting President Clinton, Mr. Whalen commented, "I've been a strong supporter of the Clinton Foundation's work around the world to combat poverty, provide medical support, and establish an education footprint in third world countries. It's an honor to meet President Clinton and I'm privileged to join such an established group of young innovative leaders throughout the country who have dedicated themselves to raising awareness and promoting philanthropic change around the world."

Mr. Whalen is an accomplished Colorado attorney representing injured victims and consumers. In less than four years of practice, he has been recognized as a Colorado Super Lawyer Rising Star, Denver Business Journal "Forty Under 40", National Trial Lawyers "40 Under 40", and as a Finalist for the Colorado Bar Association's Young Attorney of the Year. In 2012, Mr. Whalen was recognized with the American Constitution Society (ACS) Progressive Young Leadership Award.
