Nashville Religion Communicators Council Fired Up to Hear from PR Master

The Nashville Religion Communicators Council is ready to learn from 20 year PR and marketing veteran Peter Woolfolk at their March meeting.

The Religion Communicators Council (RCC) was formed in the 1920s to promote “excellence in the communication of religious faith and values in the public arena and encourage understanding among religious and faith groups,” according to the RCC website. Nashville’s RCC chapter is fulfilling this mission by holding monthly workshops in all manner of communications skills. In March they are bringing in a Public Relations expert who has worked in the field for over twenty years.

Peter Woolfolk is the President and CEO of Communications Strategies. Woolfolk previously worked in the administration of president Bill Clinton and has been press secretary for three members of Congress. He has hosted three public affairs radio shows and has produced a television show. His current goal is to build a successful, respectable public relations firm in Nashville and to make meaningful contributions to the community. As a result of his work in Nashville, he has won several awards from the Public Relations Society of America.

“We are thrilled that Mr. Woolfolk is bringing his library of knowledge to the Nashville RCC,” says chapter president Rev. Brian Fesler. “Now more than ever it’s important to help religious workers who have a passion for spreading the good news. Very much needed in society.”

Woolfolk will present a program to the RCC entitled “How to Be Heard When Nobody Is Listening.” Fesler continues: “There’s so much room in the world for the good news—so many people are working hard to make the world a better place, and we need that truth out there edging out the negativity.”

Nashville members will gather for their usual lunch at 11:30am, and the presentation will begin at 12:00pm on March 21, 2012. Anyone working in the field of religious communication may attend the event by emailing to RSVP.

The RCC has members from every faith group and walk of life including Baha’is, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Scientologists, and more.
