"One Last Shot - A Basketball Reality" Scores By Signing Schea Cotton As Show Host

Legendary Schea Cotton signs on as the new host for "One Last Shot - A Basketball Reality", a new competitive reality show determined to give new unknown basketball players a chance to become a pro.

Schea Cotton, AKA "Manchild" has signed on to be the host of "One Last Shot - A Basketball Reality" a new competitive basketball themed reality series.

Cotton is the subject of the soon to be released documentary entitled "Manchild." The documentary explores the events and people that surrounded the rise and fall of Cotton, the #1 high school player in the nation during the mid 90's and who at 16 was featured in Sports Illustrated. Eighteen years later, after playing basketball all over the world and now coaching some of the best young talent in California Cotton has a documentary about to be released and is now the host of "One Last Shot - A Basketball Reality".

"I was approached by Sean Goodwin the show's producer to be on One Last Shot the basketball reality show and at first I declined. I thought it would be more of the same of what is out there in the world of reality shows." Cotton explained. "But after learning that the premise of One Last Shot was to give players who should have been in the league another chance, I listened."

Goodwin, the show's creator, a competitive athlete and a Christian with a heart to serve, has been looking for the best non-NBA basketball players from around the country to compete in the new reality show. "One Last Shot - A Basketball Reality is a passion of mine that literally every pro, every coach, every athlete I have talked to wants to get behind." Goodwin goes on to say "Having hopes and dreams and wanting a second chance are universal emotions that go beyond basketball. One Last Shot allows the pro's who've made it the opportunity to give back, to come on the show and encourage the up and comers. It also allows these "would be" pro's who for various circumstances have missed their opportunity to play pro ball to come on receive coaching and mentoring and see if they have what it takes to overcome their past adversities and play at the highest level.

Cotton is a basketball prodigy who never got his break to play in the NBA though everyone who saw him play knew he deserved it. Through the 90's he was the best player in the country within a four or five year age bracket. Since then he has been playing overseas and he's kept himself in great shape." Goodwin states "I thought Schea would be a great contestant on the show since he is considered by many professional coaches and players alike to be the "LeBron before LeBron". Schea has always been a beast on the basketball court and then there is all this mystery and intrigue about his NCAA experience, why he lost his eligibility and never played in the NBA. But when I asked him what he wanted to do, he said he just wanted to be there for the kids, to give back and be a good role model. That clinched the deal and I knew we had to get him involved in a big way. Not only does Schea have a ton of experience but he also has a very unique and interesting perspective that once imparted will help kids and parents prepare for many of the trappings and potential pitfalls that await a young aspiring pro athlete."

Cotton explains "No one prepares a 14 year old kid or their parents for that matter, about how to handle agents, scouts and shoe company reps who are all there to get a piece of the action and a piece of the player. If I can help just one kid and his family to not have to go through what my family and I had to go through, then it will all be worth it." Cotton still gets offers to play for some major overseas teams but his focus has shifted to helping and coaching kids succeed both on and off the court.

Goodwin met and shared the details of the opportunity with Cotton and that there was more to "One Last Shot" than a competitive reality show but also a compelling program that embodies the importance of giving back and helping inner city "at risk" youth through mentoring and coaching so the decision for Cotton was easy "I'm all in." States Cotton, "This isn't about me, it's about helping the kids and giving back".

"Schea Cotton's star like quality, experience on the basketball court and his passion to serve, makes him the perfect host for "One Last Shot" exclaims Goodwin. "The show has already attracted the attention of NBA pros who also believe in giving back and are equally committed to encourage and help mentor the contestants. Having Schea on the show as the host is a perfect fit" says Goodwin, "While we have pro's who are on board to encourage and help mentor the contestants it's difficult for many people to identify with a NBA basketball player. Schea is in a unique position to be able to relate to the contestants who have suffered from some unfortunate situation that kept them from reaching their full potential. He personifies One Last Shot and is the perfect guy to help relate the compelling and emotional stories of the contestants to viewers."

"One Last Shot - A Basketball Reality" is accepting submissions from players who believe they have what it takes to play at the highest level and interested players should email a short bio and a pic to BasketballReality ( @ ) gmail dot com if they want to be considered for the show dot
