Kermel stretches clothing solution to suit police and military needs

Kermel of France, a manufacturer of protective clothing, has developed Stretch Kermel? to meet the needs of military and police personnel. This elastic, thermostable textile base provides the right balance between comfort, safety and aesthetics, while offering a high level of mechanical and technical performance.

Kermel will attend the MILIPOL 2011 trade show, which will take place in Paris from 18 to 21 October 2011, where the specialist French-based company will showcase its various product lines, including Stretch Kermel?.

Clothing requirements in the military and the police have evolved. Uniforms are now worn for much longer periods of times and are expected to fully optimise mobility during interventions. The elastic quality of the Stretch Kermel? solution facilitates ease of movement and significantly reduces the friction sound that can be produced by more static fabrics.

Stretch Kermel?'s elastic property after elongation promotes very low residual deformation. A reduction in the amount of creases in clothing is a considerable advantage in avoiding snags and, therefore, accidents.

Stretch Kermel? can be printed on, in order to meet the requirements of any type of camouflage, and is highly resistant to abrasion, thus preserving performance in terms of infrared reflection. The specialist fabric can be used to create an entire item of clothing, or simply parts thereof.

Stretch Kermel? strikes the right balance between efficiency and safety, and helps military and police personnel to fully identify with their uniform and to make it perform like a second skin.

About Kermel

Kermel, which is headquartered in Colmar (in Alsace, in eastern France), is a European leader in the manufacture of meta-aramid fibres used in protective clothing.

Kermel? fibre, which is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, can be used in numerous end-use applications where protection is paramount: military flight suits, clothing for firefighters and army personnel, as well as police forces' riot-control gear. Kermel? fibre is also ideal as workwear in hazardous industrial environments.

Kermel will take part in the MILIPOL 2011 trade show, which will take place in Paris (France) from 18 to 21 October 2011.
