Two Paintings By Artist Bruce Wood In Exhibition At The Attleboro Arts Museum

The Attleboro Arts Museum has included two paintings by Bruce Wood in their 2010 Members' Exhibition. The exhibition marks another step in establishing Bruce Wood as a major New England artist.

Contemporary impressionist painter Bruce Wood is a new Member of the The Attleboro Arts Museum in Attleboro, Massachusetts. His acrylic paintings "Sunday" and "The Dock" have been included in their 2010 Members' Exhibition, December 11, 2010 through Feb 4, 2011.

Bruce Wood is a Boston native who moved to Chicago in the 1970's to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received a Master of Fine Arts Degree. He stayed in the Midwest, opening the former Fenway Galleries in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. He is widely known for his paintings of Lake Michigan, which are in collections across the world.

He recently moved back to Massachusetts and is now painting views of New England villages and harbors. In 2010 Bruce Wood was elected into the Cape Cod Art Association, and the Wellesley Society of Artists. His inclusion in the Attleboro Arts Museum's exhibition is another step toward establishing him as a major New England artist.

Serving a growing audience of more than 40,000, the Attleboro Arts Museum offers local and regional communities a variety of programming, such as its W. Charles Thompson Museum School, with onsite and satellite educational classes taught by award-winning artist and educators.

The Museum continually refreshes exhibitions, and prominently displays the works of both promising and professional artists, in 3,500 square feet of gallery space, which also features 14-foot ceilings and moveable gallery walls.

The Attleboro Arts Museum hosts many special events throughout the year, including its signature annual Art Auction in the fall and Flower Show in the spring. It has recently added a Craft Fair to support the work of local artisans, and a wildly popular Poetry Slam, that spotlights performance poetry from teens and adults.

The Attleboro Arts Museum is located at 86 Park Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts, 02703. Their web site is http://www.attleboroartsmuseum.org
