Congressman Bob Goodlatte Invites Pastor Jay to His Office in Roanoke

Congressman Bob Goodlatte Invites Pastor Jay to His Office in Roanoke to Discuss Their Mutual Christian and American Values Surrounding the "500 Mile Walk of Faith.

Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) extended a personal invitation to Pastor Jay Ahlemann to discuss their mutual perspectives and beliefs regarding the Judeo Christian Values, which were originally set forth by our Founding Fathers.

The 65 year old Pastor Jay has also been actively promoting these Judeo-Christian ethics and principles, which both he and Congressman Goodlatte share, during his 500 Mile Walk of Faith For Our Nation through the Shenandoah Valley. This 500 mile walk initially started in Waynesboro, PA on August 2nd.

Pastor Jay stated; "I am truly grateful for Congressman Goodlatte's invitation, and the opportunity for us to spend some valuable time together. I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for Congressman Goodlatte's dedication to America, especially his impressive contributions to the people of Virginia since 1977. I have also admired his courage to stand with me in support the all-important Christian family values which have played such an important role for families in Virginia and all across our great Nation."

Pastor Jay, who still preaches every Sunday as the founding Pastor of The Church of the Valley, located in Strasburg VA, has always been willing to stand up and speak publicly about his strong convictions on controversial issues, which has often caused him to be targeted and ridiculed by the media. However, refusing to be intimidated or back down, Pastor Jay has consistently stated that the Christian values he promotes are simple, Christian values, and should be basic to every American.

These Christian values, which Pastor Jay and Congressman Goodlatte stand behind, include; the sanctity of life (born and unborn), the traditional family marriage (between one man and one woman), the Abrahamic Covenant (refusing to "bow" to the Islamic World), our personal accountability to God, the right to a God-centered education, common decency, and a national work ethic (not a socialistic and welfare culture).

Congressman Goodlatte has been serving the 6th district in Virginia in the House of Representatives since 1981 but has been serving the people of the 6th district in other ways going back as far as 1977 when he became District Director for former Congressman Caldwell Butler.

Currently Congressman Goodlatte serves as the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Conservation, Credit, Energy and Research. He also serves as Chairman of the House Republican High Technology Working Group; Co-Chair of the Congressional Internet Caucus; and is a member of the Republican Policy Committee.
