The Woodshed Gallery in Franklin, Massachusetts will present original fine art paintings by Franklin artist William Janosco, June 15 through July 17, 2010. This is the fourth in a series of exhibitions to showcase outstanding local artists. The public is invited to an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, June 19, from 3PM to 5PM.

This exhibition is the first opportunity for Boston-area residents to view an extended range of William Janosco's non-representational art. Over twenty paintings will be displayed in this solo exhibition.

William Janosco, who studied at the Carnegie Mellon University (BFA) and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (MFA), creates expressionistic paintings using diverse media. His compositions are reminiscent of Twentieth Century master artist Gerhard Richter's non-representational paintings, but introduce an element of collage. All of Janosco's works are comprised of several paintings, all pieced together into a cohesive work.

An active and accomplished artist, William Janosco has shown his work in many States. It is represented in corporate collections and in the Prints and Drawings collection of The Art Institute of Chicago.

For William Janosco, the paintings become objects of energy and contemplation. He says, "We need to be reminded of the spiritual energy embodied by the stars, the rain, the earth and fire. I bring these references into my paintings and lead viewers in a very subtle way-to appreciate the wonders around them."
